1. Our Mission and Data Purpose

URLert is an AI-powered security and domain intelligence platform. Our mission is to provide security professionals, researchers, and everyday users with a transparent, technical analysis of the global DNS landscape. The data provided on this platform is for informational and security research purposes only.

URLert operates as an interactive computer service under federal law (47 U.S.C. § 230), providing a platform for the analysis of third-party data and public records.

2. Where Our Data Comes From

We aggregate publicly available Technical Facts to build a profile for every domain in our index:

  • Registration Data: Public WHOIS and RDAP records (e.g., registration dates).
  • Traffic Metrics: Global traffic rankings from independent indices like the Tranco List.
  • Infrastructure Details: ASN records and hosting provider information.
  • Network Mapping: Publicly resolved IP addresses and DNS records.

3. How Classification Works

Our system uses advanced AI to analyze a domain's Inherent Functionality—the structural traits that define what a platform fundamentally does.

  • Functional Purpose: Domains are categorized by their primary use, such as a Marketplace, Social Network, or Financial Service.
  • Risk Surface Analysis: We identify features that naturally require higher user vigilance, such as User-Generated Content (UGC), Form Builders, or File Hosting capabilities.

Our classifications are generated using objective, non-discriminatory criteria. URLert does not provide subjective "ratings" but rather functional assessments based on technical data and site structure.

4. Accuracy and The "Verified Source" Process

We prioritize accuracy over automated assumptions. If a domain's automated classification does not reflect its current operational reality, we offer a Manual Verification process.

  • Verified Status: Once an operator's identity is confirmed, the domain is marked as a Verified Source. This status overrides automated traffic-based risk calculations to ensure legitimate businesses are not unfairly penalized for being new or niche.
  • Administrative Notes: We may include human-written Admin Notes to provide necessary context regarding a platform's operator or specialized services.

5. Domain Removal and Takedown Policy

As a provider of technical domain intelligence, URLert functions as a public record and search engine for the web's infrastructure.

  • Non-Removal Policy: We do not typically remove active, public domains from our index. Doing so would compromise the integrity of our security research database.
  • Commitment to Correction: While we do not remove domains, we are fully committed to correcting inaccuracies. If you believe our technical facts or functional classifications are incorrect, you may request a manual review.
  • Privacy: We do not display non-public personal information. All displayed data is derived from public technical records.

6. Reporting a Dispute

If you are a domain owner or operator and believe that our data or classification is inaccurate, please contact us to initiate a review:

7. Jurisdiction
